"The quickest way to kill a relationship is to take each other for granted."
appreciation
/əpriːsɪˈeɪʃ(ə)n/

gratitude
/ˈɡratɪtjuːd/
noun
the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.

Sometimes I get caught up in all the negativity that's going on that I forget about the good things that happen or that people do for me. This is bad because not appreciating the people who care most for you is not being caring toward these people whom you should care the most for, especially when they go out of their way to do things specially for you and you personally and it's not just some courteous politically-correct move or actions mandated by workplace etiquette. These are the people that tolerate and accept that you're human and you'll be down sometimes and care about you and not appreciating that, in some sense, is to not care about them. This makes them sad and sad is bad because sad backwards is das and das not good.
I think that it is important to show appreciation especially to those who personally care about you; it is really easy to take them for granted especially if those are the people who care for you unconditionally. It means so much more to them than you would have to give up in spending that extra thought to show them that "hey I see that you did this thing for me and thank you for choosing to do this for me".
Because most of the things they do, they're not obliged to do or do well. But they still choose to. And even if it is their obligation to do whatever they did, perhaps that's worthy of your at least 3 seconds, to stop and recognise and appreciate and perhaps even give back in your own way and show that you care about them too.
